Early to bed, early to rise.

Saturday, 7 May

We finally called it quits about 8:00 Friday night, so predictably, Saturday morning found me up about 4:00. After a little post-travel organizing and a couple of kilometers of walking around to find some WiFi (situation in the Hotel is not great) and breakfast we were off to do some real tourist stuff around 9:00ish. The early start was great because our first stop was the Tower of London and, as it is with most of the popular attractions, the crowds really grow during the day.  For trip day No. 1, I think we accomplished a pretty good and predictable set of activities for first-time visitors to London.  After four hours of Beefeaters, armaments, torture paraphernalia , crown jewels and the rest the Tower has to offer we filled the rest of the day with a spot of pub lunch, the requisite trip on the double-decker sightseeing busses and a visit to the incredible St. Paul’s Cathedral.  Cocktail time back in our room followed by a delightful alfresco dinner just down Ludgate Hill Street from St. Paul’s was the perfect end to a lovely day in London town.
