Wizz…

I just checked in for our Wizz Air flight from London to Gdansk and I will say, Wizz is not one of those air carriers that gives you a real warm, fuzzy feeling. They were the only airline offering non-stop service to Gdansk at a reasonable time of the day and their published fares are really cheep, but they’ve taken the fee scheme to a new level. There’s a per ticket booking fee, the usual bag check fee except with a really restrictive carry-on policy, etc., etc.

If you do anything at the airport like check in or print a boarding pass, were talking 10-60 Euro. My fav is the per minute fee if you want to talk to them on the phone.

Now I am looking at this as much more of an adventure than a hassle, but I fully expect that at some point we will cross over one of Wizz’s lines and then zap, they got us. On the big plus side, my barf bag collection (I really have one) is absent a Wizz Air bag and as soon as I cough up the fee, I’ll have one. Anticipation!

Here’s the rules you have to agree to before you print your BPs:

  • You must print your boarding card and present both pages at the airport or you will be charged an airport check-in fee.
  • The customer copy and airline copy must be printed on SEPARATE sheets of paper. We cannot accept duplex prints for travel.
  • Please make sure that your print a separate boarding card for each of your flight. We cannot accept duplex prints of more than one boarding card for travel.
  • Please make sure that the bar code is clearly displayed on both the customer and airline copies. We cannot accept boarding cards without 2 bar codes for travel.
  • Please check that the details of the travel documents you provided are correct. If you are travelling with an infant, please also double-check the accuracy of the details provided.

Have a nice flight. 🙂

Wow! don’t you lovvvvve these types of “deals” that little airlines have in Europe! Oh, and very little luggage otherwise it would cost much more than the cost of flying.
